TrueMoney Expands Thai Baht TrueMoney (THBT) to Phase 2

Expanding participation to 20,000 users and swap options to 6 currencies
to advance programmable payment on a public blockchain

Bangkok, August 18, 2026 – TrueMoney, Southeast Asia’s leading fintech platform under Ascend Money, expands the Thai Baht TrueMoney (THBT) initiative into Phase 2. The new phase will welcome up to 20,000 Thai and international participants to explore the potential of public blockchain technology and payment innovation through real-world usage under the Programmable Payment project within the Bank of Thailand’s Enhanced Regulatory Sandbox, alongside related operations under the Digital Asset Regulatory Sandbox of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand.

Expanding the Pilot to Advance Payment Technology Insights
Following strong user interest in the initial phase of the Thai Baht TrueMoney (THBT) project, which reached its full participant capacity, Thai Baht TrueMoney (THBT) Phase 2 expands the scope of the pilot to further explore interoperability between digital tokens on a public blockchain. Participants will now be able to swap THBT with six tokens referencing U.S. dollar, euro, Singapore dollar, Australian dollar, and Thai baht, enabling broader participation across connected digital ecosystems. The expansion aims to generate further insights into digital asset interoperability.

THBT is a digital value unit referenced to the Thai baht at a 1:1 ratio, developed to explore the application of blockchain technology in programmable payment use cases. Built on a public blockchain, THBT enables transparent, traceable, and auditable transactions while supporting the study of next-generation digital payment innovations. Participants can manage and exchange THBT through the TrueMoney app and use it with participating services, including the purchase of digital discount coupons and the swap of participating digital tokens. Exchange rates are based on the daily market value of the corresponding fiat currencies. These services are provided by Ascend Bit under the Digital Asset Regulatory Sandbox of Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand.
